The Donnay Mac Story

In 2015 we lost a loved one to Cancer, his name was Mr Donald MacDonald.  Donnay started his life on a little island on the West Coast of Scotland called Barra, in his youth he moved with his mum and dad to Inverness then Glasgow for his dad's work.

After losing Donald to this horrible disease in 2015 our 11-year-old daughter at the time Siobhan decided that she wanted to do a MacMillan Cancer Coffee Morning to raise money in his name to say thank you for the care that they gave him when he needed it most and our fund raising journey for MacMillan Cancer Support began.

As part of our fundraising we still have our MacMillan Cancer Coffee Mornings but we have also had four very successful Donald MacDonald Memorial Day Fly Fishing Competitions.

In 2019 we introduced to the market our Donnay Mac Range of Fishing Flies which are tied using only the best materials provided by our 2021 sponsors Blob and Buzzer, Kindale Flies, Celtic Blob Company and Comp Candy Trout Flies.

Our flies are tied to order by our four tiers who are Kenny Downie, Paul Grant, Scot Mitchell and Andy McRoberts, with our fly tiers providing these quality flies and our sponsors we are able to donate 100% of all Donnay Mac fly sales to Macmillan Cancer Support which makes so much of a difference.

On our website you can also purchase our Donnay Mac Kilt Pins, Hoodies which can be personalised with your name or initials, Caps and Beanies with our logo on them.

Since 2016 we have been raising money for MacMillan Cancer Support and raised over £19,000 and with your continued help we would love to raise more.
